Deformations can cause tensed muscles, grinding of the teeth and damage to the teeth, the jaw joint and chewing muscles. Also as an adult, your tooth position can be optimised, using fixed braces or removable splints, so-called aligners.
For major corrections fix braces are the first choice. Brackets made of ceramics or saphir are of a smooth surface and easy to maintain. They have a rounded shape and are comfortable to wear. High light permeability make them look even more similar to the natural teeth, in contrast to synthetic brackets, they do not change colouring.
The "lingual-technique" involves the insertion of splints inside the denture, "behind the teeth" so to say, and thereby allows invisible correction.
